北海道東川町では、世界的建築家 隈研吾氏とともに、世界中の若者を対象に、新しい家具のデザインコンペティションを実施しています。
第５回のテーマは「健康な家具」で、参加資格は学生で30歳以下の方です。締め切りは日本時間2026年1月14日正午です。応募作品の中から10作品を選定し、2026年３月に東川町にて最終審査会を経て、受賞作品を選定する予定です。

【The 5th "Kengo Kuma & Higashikawa" KAGU Design Competition is Now Open for Entries】
　Higashikawa Town in Hokkaido, together with world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, is holding a new furniture design competition for young people from all over the world.
　The theme of the 5th competition is "Healthy Furniture" and students at the age of 30 or younger are eligible to participate. The deadline for entries is noon on January 14, 2026 Japan Standard Time. Ten works will be selected from among the entries, and the winning works will be selected after the final judging in Higashikawa in March 2026. For more details, please visit the following website.
